Cravendale milk

Wow just noticed that 1L of Cravendale milk has jumped from £1.40 to £2 in the space of a week. This is at Sainsburys.

Usually on offer, if buying two bottles (at Coop/OneStop etc)?

I’ve noticed that lot’s of stuff has markedly jumped in price in the last week or two…..

I spotted that in Tesco at the weekend.

We bought 2L for £3 instead.

I shop for my mum and she only want 1L, ill have 2L so don't need the extra litre

I haven't bought cravendale ever since my local (ASDA) started doing their own brand filtered milk. Cheaper, tastes the same, lasts just as long.

I misspoke, you’re absolutely correct. It’s definitely pricey these days (post Covid).

Are these all Arla products that have gone up in price?

Perhaps there is pushback on the Bovaer stuff they are feeding cows and they are trying to make up lost revenue.

Loads of stuff has shot up again despite low inflation. Some by as much as 20 odd percent.

I hear Southern Water are going up 43 percent.

The whole caboodle is getting fekin ridiculous.

Company I work for has not given out a pay rise in 5 years yet meanwhile everything is many times more than it was back then.

Luckily for me, I can ride it but many have been struggling and there's just no end in sight for them.

On the assumption the preference for filtered milk is the extended life it's cheaper to buy normal milk a litre at a time and chuck any excess away if not used before it goes off.

I know my Dad manages it but I cant work out how a 1litre of milk lasts more than a few days, half a dozen cups of tea a day soon rattles through it.

Exactly. TBH the difference between the shelf life of filtered and regular pasteurised has closed significantly in the last few years.

Back in the 80s / 90s you were lucky to get 5-7 days with the regular stuff. Now it’s regular about 2 weeks. Don’t see the point in filtered.

I have been using it in tea for years, but you are right ill just go back to normal semi skimmed.
