I add butter and milk to scrambled eggs, for a glossier and more aerated mouth feel.

Would milk, not boil or steam in the same way?
Yes; water for fluffiness. I was unaware of it until a debate on the Chris Evans BBC2 breakfast show many moons ago between him and Stav, about whether to do so or not. I tried it and am a convert. Milk is childish for me, is flattens the flavour and the texture -- presumably it'd be different with proper unpasteurised full fat milk. I sometimes add sparkling water.
Okay,I'll give it a try. My mother used to add the dash of milk and she would have copied her mother who was from Marshfield, in Gloucestershire, and I guess approaching 100 years ago, in small village it would have been proper milk from the farm.
My late Uncle was a Marshfield Mummer.....just saying wink

Yep Alesssi egg cup although the salt shaker is from one Alessi range whilst the egg holder is from another Alessi range.

While that’s a beautifully toasted slice of bread, it’s in desperate need of salted butter. smile

Eggs en cocotte with appropriately buttered toast. This version had portobello mushrooms sautéed in a little butter and soy sauce with sautéed spinach. There was also some small pieces of parma ham and roasted cherry tomatoes in the base. Two eggs on top then topped with a small amount of double cream and parmesan.

Your butter looks weird. Am sure it tasted good though.

I was about to ask "Why is it wearing a hard hat?"

Road trip to Gloucester - Kingsley Cafe near Woodstock/Oxford - fantastic motor themed cafe with an outdoor venue/looks like lots of car meets etc.

Solid 9/10 (-1 for beans in a ramekin)
