I like a tipple like a lot of people, and like most reflect on whether I’m drinking too much. On average I’d probably say I drink 3 bottles of wine a week, in a social setting, with a meal etc, not downing a bottle to get pissed. I know this is far far too much, around 30 units so double the recommended.

How many units do you reckon you drink in a week? Be honest, don’t give an answer you’d give to your doctor…..

Never been a fan or wine or spirits myself but love lager, honestly I reckon I have 6 pints a week

On my recent "over 40s health check" the doctor advised I drink less

More than that. A lot more than that.

I’m genuinely at the point of seeking help.

Beer, lots of it.
Guess it's about 10 pints a week with Ms. Sidewinder as company, about 10ish more when on my own
Would be more if work/life in general wouldn't interrupt

Nope. I'm tee total. Not had an alcoholic drink for over 20 years

Even when I used to drink, it was just when I went out with mates for a bit of dutch courage when trying to chat up a girl.

Many peole drink way too much imho.

Not any more. I used to love a good few drinks but I stopped wanting to. Stopped spirits years ago. Lost the taste for wine a few years back. I may have a few beers a week if I have no very early starts, and used to work my way through ales and nicer lagers but the novelty wore off and I got fed up being bloated from it.

Until a year or so ago I was drinking around 15 units a week, most of it at the weekends. Then I decided to cut down, partly in the hope it would help me lose weight.

Most weeks I now drink 0-3 units with the very occasional 5-6 unit week. Have I lost weight? Nope.

Similar for me, 30 odd units most weeks, fairly evenly my spread out. Eat healthy, live healthy, no other vices in life! Clearly more then the doctor ordered, but it's safer then hookers and cocaine!

In regards to alcohol, I drink 90% of my units in beer, maybe more.

An average week will usually include two nights or a weekend afternoon out and I'll have 4 to 6 pints each time. I'd guess another couple of evenings I'll drink 1 or 2 at home.

I dont drink particularly strong beer, so it probably equates to about 30 units a week.

I do. I really do.

Glass of whisky most nights if I haven’t drink anything else.

Couple of beers at the weekend or wine with dinner. Used to love an all dayer when I was younger.

Been a big Beer drinker all my life , loved having a beer or several .

About 2 months ago , I woke up one morning and just thought yep, done with that now.

Read William Porters Alcohol explained and havnt touched a drop since .

I don’t miss it , I don’t have cravings , I’m just done with it.

Feel way better, sleep way better , more cash and losing weight ..

Pleased that I made the choice , and cannot see my going back , as I now understand how it screw’s you over .

I only drink on a Saturday night usually, however, I normally get through about 30 units in that one sitting....

I've cut down though. I used to do it on a Friday night too if I wasn't working the Saturday morning after...

Probably between 1-2 bottles.of wine per week. Usually consumed with evening meal.

There's clearly some heavy drinkers on here. Best start planning for increased dementia risk

I enjoy a large can / pint of beer in an evening. Or a couple of glasses of red. Finished off with a large whisky, although not had any for months - more of a winter thing.

But that's not every night, two or three nights a week depending how busy I am.

I like a drink, I just don't like hangovers.

I was drinking 40-50u per week, doc advised me to cut down after a heart failure diagnosis.

I've stopped drinking at home and don't really miss it, I enjoy a couple of pints when I'm out, or some wine in a restaurant. So below the current guidelines (mostly)

Generally sleeping better and less stressed. Because I'm not longer a slave to booze it's easier to do stuff and go places.

I don’t drink Monday to Thursday, but will have 2-3 pints at the pub on Friday then share a bottle of wine. Saturday and Sunday will share a bottle of wine each day and maybe a couple of gins or beer,

Too much I know. Will probably do sober October this year.
