Another coffee machine but with a twist - instant?

Currently I have a sage bambino plus coffee machine and use rave beans, I can make the perfect coffees from it which I love, however, I’ve now got to reduce my caffeine intake after a getting a health diagnosis

I have zero willpower so the machine has got to go, but I’m looking to grandly ween myself off coffee so currently exploring making decaf using instant coffee and getting a milk foamer machine as that’s what I really enjoy about drinking it

Any recommendations for decent quality decaf instant/bags etc?

Any recommendations for stand alone milk frothers?

Not interested in keeping the bambino and buying decaf beans/ ready ground

Why?

There are some fab decaf beans out there (don't ask me, I use Sainsburys own brand ones ), so if you enjoy the coffee from the Bambino, why not continue but with decaf beans?

My coffee addicted wife has reynaud's syndrome. If she drinks caffeinated coffee, her peripheral circulation shuts off and her hands look like undyed smoked haddock fillets.

Anyway, she use decaffeinated beans, and says it tastes fine.

Decaf coffee usually comes ground, don’t think I’ve seen beans whole, and running pre ground coffee though a espresso machine ends in disappointment, anytime I’ve done it it’s not ground well enough so you get over extracted bitter mess with no creama

Plus if I keep the machine il end ip buying caffeine beans again

I'd say (without any proof) that probably just about every roaster out there will have a decaf option. If you have a nearby Sainsburys, these are what I buy - https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/sainsb...

I buy my caf beans from Hormozi - mail order and they do decaf whole beans as well - https://hormozi.co.uk/product/colombia-sugar-cane-... They do a whole host of flavoured decaf as well but that is CERTAINLY not my thing.

I have a Sage Bambino but my take on instant de-caf.

I used to have Nescafe Azera decaf for a long time but it got expensive so tried others, the Cafe Direct Machu Picchu decaf is nice but needs more than a teaspoon for best flavour in my experience.

I quite like the illy decaf but that is expensive.

Wasn't overly impressed with the TrueStart decaf plus the lid is a pain.

Of the ones I have tried I would have the Machu Picchu as best, Illy next and pass on the rest.

So what's going to stop you buying full fat instant Stay with your machine, buy ready ground decaf (ground for espresso) from Rave - at least you can still play around dialling to suit your taste.

I think going cold turkey on caffeine will be hard enough for the OP without looking at an espresso machine everyday, that would just be twisting the knife.
