Need a new microwave. Do I get a microwave and oven combi?

Not sure if this is more appropriate in here or homes, gardens and diy?
Been looking at inverter microwaves, namely Bosch, Siemens and Neff. Then I discovered you can get a combined microwave and oven. It means I would only have to replace one appliance as they're stacked and otherwise they won't match...
So has anyone got a combined inverter microwave and oven? Would you recommend it, or should I stick with separate items?

Yes Ive just bought one for my new kitchen.Currently 3-4 weeks away from completion so not tried it yet, but gets good reviews.

I have the Panasonic unit that seems to get good reviews, a 4-in-1. Pleased with it, very useful and cleared a lot of counter space. Negatives are - its very heavy, throws a huge amount of heat out the rear so can't be placed close to a wall, and I'm not sure if the air-fryer function is as good as the dedicated device I previously used (most likely my cooking abilities though).
Haven't looked at these in ages, a lot are very much a microwave with enhancements, others much more an oven. It makes a different to what they can do.
A long time ago I got a Neff(?) Quantum Speed which was huge (and very shiny) inside and was very much a full spec oven with microwave functionality, and could do some clever combo stuff. Don't think an equivalent version exists now.
Later ones I looked at were toned down by comparison, much more a microwave with a compromised oven function.
Check the numbers (interior volume, temperatures etc) to see if the combi can actually replace the existing oven.
Biggest limitation with a single unit is as mentioned above; you can't use it for two jobs at the same time and also you can't quickly switch from oven to microwave as you'd often need it to cool a bit first - the unit will be happy, what you put into it maybe not.

We have a Sharp combination microwave, convection oven and grill. If fact we're on our second such machine, the first having died about four or five years ago after several years service.
It wasn't one of the expensive brands. I think it was a bit more than £200.
It is used literally every day. The convection oven part is exceptional with very stable and consistent temperature. I baked a chicken and ham pie for last night's dinner and I'll be baking a pair of 2lb loaves this afternoon in it.
I've baked almost 100% of our bread for decades and the Sharp combi has been an absolute godsend. Convenient and economical to run.
If/when this one gives up I'll buy another without hesitation.

I bought this mostly because of the flatbed - no turntable - 2 containers can go in at the same time - rectangular ones also

I have a Hisense oven and a matching oven/microwave... a fan assisted convection oven with microwave function.
It works for me as I only use a microwave occasionally for defrosting, whereas I use the 2nd oven quite often when entertaining and different oven temps.
Both ovens are multifunction, with settings for air fryer, pizza, baking, etc, etc.
Haven't noticed the microwave is any less effective despite not have the rotating platter.
Had them over a year and they are brilliant.

But what you can't do is have one thing that needs oven cooking and another different thing that needs microwaving *at the same time*, or even just throw a microwavable thing into the oven afterwards when it's just been sat at 220C for 20 minutes.
It just becomes too much of a hassle so two units becomes necessary.

This is more replies than I expected lol.
I was initially thinking about a 3-in-1 oven, microwave and airfryer. Researching more into it told me that the airfrying function isn't as good as a standalone airfryer. Can't remember why, possibly something to do with the size of it.
Even if I got a combined microwave and oven, it would be an issue if say I wanted to microwave something else whilst the oven was in use. I'd then potentially have to wait for the oven to cool down before I could microwave something.
So I think i'll keep everything separate. But I still need a new microwave, and I may as well get a new oven with a combined microwave so it all matches...
