Paddington Sunday Lunch/Fish & Chips

Bit of a Hail Mary this one… My missus has some family coming into town from abroad and I’ve just been told they want to meet for lunch tomorrow -4 adults and 2 kids under 10.

Initial thought was the Victoria but they’re fully booked upstairs and due to kids, I’m not sure we can risk getting a table in the bar area.

I don’t spend much time around the area and know it’s riddled with tourist trap places, so any recommendations would be appreciated!

I would look a short walk away from the station rather than right by it, as you tend to get much more relaxed places that are happy with children. It is worth ringing ahead to ask about a family table and whether they do a smaller roast or fish portion for the kids, as that saved us a lot of faff last time. If you cannot get a proper sit down booking, a good takeaway fish and chips eaten somewhere comfortable can still work really well for a mixed age group.

Agreed, head to little Venice. We used to drink in the Warrick Castle quite a lot and I think they do a reasonable roast.
