We have just started buying Abel & Cole Veg boxes, thumbs up to the quality of service and food
They deliver nationally and you can substitute what you don't like, we don't even need to be at home.

Used to buy a veg box when I lived down the south west (River Dene or something similar?) definately worth doing if anyone fancies going organic...

We had a mad blind lady who used to drive all over cheshire delivering organic veg.
- Its was bloody good, very non comertialised, and rediculasly cheap for what it was too.

And then we had a very good greengrocer in the vilage, which between them got our full attention.

Unfortunatly the shop closed because they guy got a kid, and actaully needed to make some money, and the crasy lady just sort of disapeared.
- My mum now tends to get veg from the local (comertialised, mid classed targeting) farmshop on her way past, or saisburys. But 'the hollies' is maddly overpriced and posh, and even the best supermarket stuff isnt a patch on price or quality.

Be interested in how it goes anyway. How much is it?

Is this the one with the yellow flyer?

I've been toying with the idea of using them.

We found it got too expensive, and the goods don't last as long as supermarket stuff.

Try the muesli though - it's good thumbup

we've just finished off the box we had 2 weeks ago but all seemed to last ok, we've got a very cold conservatory that we keep it in, so I guess that helps.
Which muesli was it, the superfood one or the other one?

Thats the trouble really, the initial enthusiasm to eat every vegetable under the sun that they send you fades and (at least, I found) some of the less-used produce (marrows...swede...turnips) tends to build up unused.

So you end up buying "nice" veg to top up from the supermarket once the good stuff is gone from the box.

Some of that comes down to thinking out of the box.

If you enjoy cooking, you can learn to use the more unusual veg in a new way. You may find something that you like.

BTW in the North West, there is Northern Harvest, just outside Warrington, that deliver.

I've used Riverford organic boxes before. Because there's just me I got a mini veg box for £7.50 and a fruit bag for £4.50, was pretty good. They do all sorts actually and I'm thinking of getting a meat box (for some reason you need to create an account to see details of those) and sticking it in the freezer - will last me for ages.

Would definitely recommend them.

We stopped getting a box when I got bored of making soup from veg I didn't particularly like.

Yup, we know a song about that! Persevering, though. This one is good, if you end up with an EU onion mountain:

Now, if only I could find a use for beetroot...
