Afternoon all,

Being Johnny Foreigner in this fine land, I cannot eat the turkey at Christmas like the rest of you, but must insist on duck instead.

Can anyone recommend the best place to get them? I'm thinking properly hand-reared (or whatever...) expensive, farm shop, organic, free range, ultimate kind of thing. If I can't find that I'll get one in Waitrose, but has anyeone got a better idea?

I'm in Milton Keynes but I'm happy to travel, order online, or basically do whatever it takes to achieve birdy nirvana.

My butcher in Caversham (Reading) would be able to source it for you.

We've had free-range goose for the past two years (and fantastic roast tatties for 2 years afterwards!), it comes in a cardboard box with pics of geese roaming rofl

Agree with Puggit - forget the duck and go with the goose - free range goose is one of the great culinary delights!

Thanks for the tips, I'll check them out - looks like there's a fair few sites out there like the one suggested. I wouldn't mind goose myself, but have the parents over from the old country this year, and they insist on duck, so I've gone along with that for a quiet life.
