Forgive me PH foodies, for I have sinned.

I like the following things in ways that are, according to the conventional wisdom, ruined:
  • Sprouts boiled to death
  • Earl Grey tea with milk and sugar
  • Bacon only-just-done (i.e. still pinkish)
  • Dried pasta cooked well past al dente (in my defence, this is an occasional whim and I like it firm (fnar) most of the time)
  • Sausages black all over
What's your sin?

I agree with the Earl Grey bit - find it's like Chai and benefits from a weeny bit of sugar to bring out the delicate flavour and milk.
Sausages - only if it's BBQ black :P Proper smokey and charcoal.

I have been known to munch on dry spaghetti also....................

I'll second the Earl Grey and the Pink Bacon comments. Lovely stuff.

Margerine/Marmite on very burnt toast - love it.

Microwaved fresh veggies - next best thing to steaming but without the hassle.

Friend of mine once tried to make "hot" coronation chicken, but she read hot to mean temperature rather than spice. It was actually quite nice.

Pork tartar, top dished out and a raw egg in it. It was, er, interesting. To me, at least the pork should have been burnt a tad but when in Rome and all that.

Another vote for overdone sausages. Cook em in the oven, 180 for 45 mins or so in a tray (only attention needed is to turn them once)- they'll come out dark brown, sticky and lush.

Quite like fried fish overdone a bit too.

Saddest admission is, not only do I quite like pot noodles but I put too much water in them then drink the sauce near the end! Honest, chicken and mushroom mmmmm.

Many moons back in my dim and distant childhood my mum made some strawberry jam and burnt it ever so slightly - it was heaven on toast! She just has never been able to replicate it frown

Dunno about wrong but my fave is something noone else likes.

It's peanut butter and jam on toast, nothing too unusual in that aye, but then I like to cover it with melted lancashire cheese. YUMYUM.

Marmite melties...

fantastic.

Tiger bread..lots of butter...marmite and then a decent full bodied marmalade on top. Toast until radioactively hot.

Hmm. This is an experiment I feel I must conduct.

While I'll happily stir a raw egg into steak tartare or a spaghetti carbonara then eat it, I can't stand soft cooked eggs. I boil eggs until the outside of the yoke goes green/grey, scrambled eggs are cooked until dry and rubbery, and I break the egg's yoke intentionally while frying them and flip them over until they look like Arizona road kill. In fact I might try finishing one off in the toaster next time.
