I have just started to enjoy the odd smoothie in our Magimix but fancy taking this a little further, has anyone any recommedations for an easy clean up smoothie maker? Or should I just get one of those old fashioned liquidisers?

Mmmmm haven't made smoothies for ages....nice thought...and I've got some frozen raspberries to use up!

We just use a handheld blender in either the beaker it came with or a jug (whatever is clean!).

I try to avoid gadgets that only do one thing so haven't looked at smoothie makers.

The advantage with smoothie makers is that the blades are meant to be stronger so it is able to crush ice etc.

I love making smoothies although tbh when me and my brothers make them they aren't all that healthy! Banana, peanut butter and chocolate brownie or muffin is a brilliant combination.

This one looks to be good value: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4...

Alternately it might be worth having a look in stores like TK Maxx as they often have things like this in clearance, we recently got a knife block set for 30quid in there that is around 120 in John Lewis etc.

My handheld blender copes fine with ice and frozen berries etc. I really wouldn't bother with a "one hit wonder" of a gadget.

It seems £20 at Tesco did the trick. Now for a Peanut Butter, Banana, Tahini Smoothie.

However I am now pining for this commercial grade baby, £480 new scratchchin
