Hey just wondering if anyone has a recipe for/knows where i can buy some of that really nice icing that comes on birthday cakes from proper bakeries. Not sure what it's called but it's like really sweet, kinda soft like a paste n a bit creamy if i remember, any ideas? cheers.

nah it's kinda like that but more 'shiny', similar texture but a bit more like icing

See here: I think it's fondant icing you want.

nah, that's the one you roll out isn't it? this is sort of like really stiff buttercream i s'pose but it's icing. Maybe it's some kinda bakers secret lol, as the only place i've ever seen it is on cakes from bakeries.

Its like a buttercream - but a substitute. Quite sweet and vanillary.

The stuff I use is called Mactop - it comes in a litre container and needs whipping until thick. Can also freeze it and use as icecream.
