A friend gave me some fresh shot pigeons at the weekend. Cooked them tonight in a casserole with red wine, oil, shallots and mushrooms. They were delicious, I have a few more in the freezer for another try.

Surely it was already dead if it was on the BBQ when you shot it? Or was the BBQ not lit? wink

I had squirrel and garlic pate a while back, not something I would have described as stunning.

Or perhaps you were talking about your shooting prowess?

hehe

The mother in law did a starter last week with smoked pheasant and smoked pigeon breast, and it was fantastic yum

Went to Suzie Wong's in Soho and had Pigeon breast in a szechuan and Strawberry sauce, it was insanely nice.
