I want to order a curry tonight and usually just get a chicken jalfrezi but want to try something else. Considering my experience in curry is limited to jalfrezi or korma I was wondering if anyone could recommend something for me to try, bearing in mind I don't think I would enjoy anything hotter than a jalfrezi!

Many thanks smile

Tawa Gosht

I get it from a fusion restaurant in Canterbury... They do an amazing line up of dishes from all over india and pakistan and use oriental and western influences too.

That dish includes Soy Sauce and Mustard seeds. It's not Hot, but extremely aromatic and tastes amazing yum

Not sure if other restaurants will understand the name, but if you want some of that goodness up your way, I can ask Jack for an idea of the ingredients and then you can knock one up yourself wink

Hmmm... just googled the dish and everyone seems to do it different laugh

Ask your local restaurant what you might enjoy. They can usually point you in the direction of something new that you might enjoy biggrin

Rogan Josh or a Bhuna - mmm Bhuna.... ooh or a Dopiaza - I'm not a huge hot curry fan but i like it with flavour and a bit of heat. You should be okay with those.

Had a chicken bhuna in the end which was nice but not at all spicy even though it said on the menu its medium. It's not like I have a high tolerance for spicy foods either. smile

Will try something else next time, thanks for your replies. smile

yes
We used to do this with a local takeaway/delivery place!
Tell them a rough price, how many people & they'd deliver.
Not always from the menu but yum

Glad you enjoyed your curry, Domino's for us (mates coming over) tonight as they dropped some vouchers through the door.

If you get into the taste of curries a bit more and want to make a quick easy, tasty curry that is like one from a restaurant, try http://www.spicebox.co.uk/

Most curry houses will spice a dish up if you want it a little hotter.
