Well there's a lot of them isn't there? If they didn't eat absolutely every last bit of every animal there wouldn't be enough to go round.

Is this speaking from experience?

Bringing back some great memories here, you forgot chickens heads and chickens feet, cows stomach, pigs tails etc..

Chinese like to chew on things and spit them out...all the meat i had in small restaurants in china was of that variety, chewing meat of little bones gets pretty annoying!. Some of it was bloody tasty though smile

I had the sparrow on Hong Kong with Chinese clients. Apparently very special to be offered it... when lovely with the Chateau Lafite 1982 and Chateau Mouton-Rothschild 1982!

I was told by a Chinese guy that Guangzhou area is most famed for disgusting foods.

The worst he knew of is now banned.

Apparently, they would strap a live monkey to the table in front of each diner. chop the top off its head and then you could eat the brains, a bit like you might eat a giant creme egg, only a bit more sick and that.

I heard about that too, as well as live rat embryos dipped in wine. hurl

Funnily enough, considering what strange things they'll eat, apparently some things are beyond even the Chinese. On our first night in HK, MOH and I went into this locals restaurant and ordered by pointing at things. When stuff started to turn up, Phil (OH) decides to start on the slices of meat that were on a bed of frozen rice noodles - thinking they were some sort of carpaccio. The looks of the other diners (a mixture of amusement and disgust) told us something was wrong - then the pan of boiling sauce we were meant to cook it in turned up! paperbag There was no mistaking the pigeon though, complete with its beak!
