Daylesford Organics
Discussion
Visited this 'farmshop' in the Cotswolds and it has to be the poshest farm shop in the whole of Britain if not the world. It was very pretentious, very expensive and there were lots of the 'beautiful people' there but put all the hype and snobbery aside and its a great place to visit if organic food, drink, clothes and lots more is your thing. I picked up a tin of caviar that was £300 and decided it wasn't a necessity(!). I did however purchase a bag of decaf roast ground coffee which I hope will be exceptional, a nice bottle of red and some organic shampoo. I admired a gorgeous sweater that was reduced to £300! Organic cashmere and silk alas!
They have a great website thats worth a look..
Has anyone else been and what did you think?

Chatsworth House farm shop is pretty pretentious too. They do however produce divine cured bacon so balls to it.
I've been to Chatsworth and I know what you mean, but Daylesford is much more pretentious! I love the products and the whole organic ethos but I can't imagine a busload of pensioners visiting Daylesford like they do at Chatsworth. My OH couldn't be doing with all the posh pretentiousness at Daylesford but as I said to him, if the food's good and worth the money then none of that matters. It did make me wonder why the 'beautiful people' seem to walk as if they've got a broom handle stuck up their arse though! Is it a symptom of wealth and coolness?
The wine was splendid and the coffee's not bad at all.
Daylesford is owned by the wife of the former JCB chairman (who is minted). It's a loss leader but undoubtably a fantastic retail experience. Loads of footballers whenever I've visited doing the shopping. The brand is expanding and they have one in Selfridges in London as well as a few other places.
The owner is a nightmare to work for - I know loads of former employees and the staff turnover rate is phenomenal - even for a food retailer where turnover is normally quite high.
