Bacon, Onion and Apple Pie
Discussion
I was just having a look at some retro recipes on this site
http://www.retrofoodrecipes.com/ when I came across Bacon, Onion and Apple Pie.
Come on who is going to be brave enough to try it.

With the apples and then a full cup of water in there, I'd say it sounds like it might come out a bit sloppy. The bacon will cook as full rashers underneath that lot so unlikely to go crispy, I'm picturing a wet apple and onion pie with a layer of pink flaccid meat on the bottom here...
The combination of flavours sounds lovely, but the execution looks a bit odd. I'll let someone else try it first.

Nothing wrong with pink flaccid meatThe combination of flavours sounds lovely, but the execution looks a bit odd. I'll let someone else try it first.

Err anyway.
I reckon, given the quantity of onions & apples (1lb of each), a tea cup full of water will get soaked up in no time.
