I am invited to chose a Dinner at a Ramsey venue in London- now for those who have been there which is the pick of the bunch (I am primarily interested in the food- I wouldn't mind to meet the man himself but it is not a must and I do not care at all to be seen with celebs or meet them- it is really the dining I am after)
Is Gordon Ramsey's in Chelsea still the one to go for or should one opt for one of his more recent aqusitions???
Thanks for your thoughts

Can't help you I'm afraid - but want to take my better half for a great meal out and we both fancy one of Ramseys resturants, so I'd love to hear how you get on !

Hospital Road is hilarious to get a booking direct for.

Go to Claridges, enquire about Hospital Rd with the Maitre De whilst there.

For fine dining Petrus, for something more contemporary Maze

Petrus appears to be getting the most acclaim at the moment

I've eaten at Maze, Claridges and The Narrow. All 3 are completely different experiences, by far the most enjoyable (and expensive) for me was Claridges. I'd definitely recommend it though I do hear excellent things about Petrus.

Though Petrus not strictly Ramsay any more.

agree with above, RHR is an amazing experience but much more formal than sdome of the others, Maze i thought was very good, much more contemporary, food marcus Waring cooked at Petrus was second to none.

Hospital Road was nice but very overpriced IMHO.
I'd try Boxwood or Maze.

Hospital Road gets my vote (and indeed my cash). Been several times and never dissappointed - even at £300 / head. Booking line opens at 9.00 am, two months in advance. Pick the day you want to go and make sure you are ringng early.

Sounds about right.

We were at Petrus 2 weeks ago and it was superb. Proper 'cuisine' rather than ultra-modern food (a-la Blumenthal), but very well executed and with immaculate service. Whether Ramsay and Wareing have fallen out makes no odds, as long as the food continues to be as good as it is!

Re: Claridges - if it makes a difference Mark Sargeant is a petrolhead...posted up on here a little while back...think he may have a Gallardo now.
