Fruit cakes -- ladies

How long to you like to leave fruit cake[ feeding at intervals] before using?

Anything from a week or so to months/years.

If its iced, it will last longer if the icing was put on with an alcohol coat than the traditional apricot jam. If the icing gets a crack in it then the jam will mould, but the alcohol wont.
