I'm organising part of a stag do next month in London. I wondered if anyone had any good tips for nightlife action as I'm not familiar with London at the weekend?

I'm thinking Friday night should be casual ish, few bars, maybe a bit of live music. Indie type music is our thing if anyone knows anywhere?

Saturday will be smarter, with a lap dancing bar (strictly for the groom you understand) such as Spearmint Rhino or FYEO and a club later. But where to go?

We're staying in the Covent Garden area so that'll be our base.

Any ideas would be really appreciated.

Cheers,
Dave

Hm... shame you're staying the West End because I can recommend Shoreditch/Old Street as a base as this is what I did for mine last year. Loads of skinny jean "indie" type action, curry in Brick Lane, BierKellar on the City Road and Browns, White Horse, Platinum club etc for lady entertainment. We played indoor golf at Smithfield (there's one in Soho too), and Kart racing in Docklands.

i cant stand London strip bars(tbh not a fan of them in general)...but recommendations for london:

arrange your addision lee taxis and door entry fees in advance.

if you arent going to a "big event" then you want to move from place to place with minimum fuss and no queueing. dont tell the bars/clubs its a stag do whatever you do, but ask to pre-pay for a party of X number if you can.

Camden would be good for you guys, but just look up gigs in Time Out for the weekends. Make sure you have somewhere late night booked in advance, thats the most important thing. you dont want to be wandering around at 12pm arguing over what to do next.
