The Ivy

Was over in the UK for a few weeks with a few days in London.

Caught a show and then on the way back passed The Ivy.

What the hell - walked in, explained that I didn't have a reservation but could you squeeze two in.

Looked at us, glanced around the restaurant and said that if we could wait 5 minutes, they'd squeeze us in even though it was packed. Cool! Had a great table as well.

My missus has never been to the UK before, let alone heard of the place, so when I explained that this was a rather popular restaurant she started getting annoyed that she didn't want to fine dine , wasn't dressed for it etc... - I said that it isn't like that and after ten mins she realised that it is very relaxed with a great vibe and relaxed.

Food was excellent as well - nice and simple but very well done.

Anyway - if you're passing, give it a go.

No - it was getting on by the time we finished and we were both tired after walking around London all day.

I've lived in London but it was the missus' first time to the UK so had to do lots of traipsing about.
