Hi,

Anyone know of a proper chinese restaurant around Donny or Scunny? Yes I know its a bit of an ask and if needed I could go down to Sheffield.

Thanks

Stacey

My favourite has to be the China Rose in Bawtry, never had a poor meal in many years. Not cheap, but if you want cheap there are Wokomania types a plenty.

Hi Stacey, yes i do. i am from Doncaster and if it is authentic chinese food you are after then you need to try China Palace on Silver Street. As well as the usual things created for our delicate little palates such as sweet and sour etc, if you ask for the "Chinese" menu, you will have the chance to sample what the many chinese people who eat at this restaurant have. This is text from a review I wrote on it 2 years ago on www.sugarvine.com

When we eat here we ask for the authentic Chinese menu, the one which the Chinese people eat from. Try the soy chicken, minced pork and aubergine casserole, minced pork and beancurd with chilli, roast meat combination and some choi-sum with oyster sauce and garlic. You have not tried Chinese food until you have eaten from their menu, and I promise you will never order sweet and sour again in your life!!

I don't generally eat "English Chinese" food, so a proper Chinese menu with some decent dim sum is a craving of mine since I moved away from Newcastle and Stowell Street.
