Favourites? Opinions?

I had a fantasic one that I can't seem to find again. I think it was called premium something, and was by one of the mainsteam brands (Blue Dragon - I think). Dark, strong, smooth and not too much of that 'fermented' or vinigery taste.

Every bugger's going to say Kikkomans...

My OH and I rather like tamari, the better it is, the better... there's no wheat in a tamari... not that we're intollerant, it's just a cleaner taste... good mixed with Wasabi and Mirin..

depends for what you want to do with it...its like saying "whats the best olive oil". One will be better with salads, one for cooking etc...

Not much help, but I've got a bottle of "Happy Fish Super-Good Brand" or somesuch which is just too dark and thick for stirfries. I've got a similarly branded light soy which is much better. I Have to admint to a little bottle of Kikkoman too for general dipping, and it's nice - I like the brewed taste! But I would be happy to try suggestions for more of the real thing too.

kikkomans is far better than the usual supermarket assortment especially if you want it for sushi.

the one from the local chinese supermarket is better but i would have no idea what its called without going home and looking at the label.

for general purpose i think its golden river or lil kum kee i get. under a quid a litre anyway.

This is what a lot of Restaurants/ takeaways use but they buy the 5 Gallon equivalent;-) Pearl River Bridge- all the same company from what I`m lead to believe. the dark is also good. There is also another type cant think of the name but its a less salty version ..

Why buy Blue dragon small bottle for around 80-90p in the Supermarket when you can buy the above bottle for £1.30 ish in the Asian market!!
