Best pubs in London?

WIll be staying in London tomorrow/Wed/Thurs and wondered if anybody had any recommendations for nice boozers for an evening with my wife. We're staying at the easyhotel (I like orange) on Cromwell Road so somewhere that's in walking distance would be good. Heard the Lamb and Flag in Covent Garden is one of the best in London, but a bit further away from us.

Depending on how far you want to walk, there are hundreds.

Up in Kensington there's the Churchill Arms, the Elephant & Castle, the Scarsdale. towards Knightsbridge there's the Swag & Tails, the Nag's Head, the Grenadier, the Star Tavern, the Wilton Arms, the Tea Clipper and so on.

Plenty of pub websites listing them all.

Dirty Dicks on Bishopsgate from around 5.30 (depends how thirsty Swerni is ) on Thursday.

I can guarantee it will be unforgetable.... well the mess that you can remember will be unforgetable, and some of those lovely ph people will fill in the gaps for you.
