Had Cristal before , didn't rate it too much above Vueve Cliquot. Cost me £300 in a fancy restaurant though.

I will have it at £99, but you might want to look at:

http://www.wine-searcher.com/wine-select.lml

and put it in there to see the prices.

Had most of them and have to say I dont rate it at all.

Far nicer cheaper makes that knock the spots off it.

Love the stuff! But I don't rate Cristal as much above Veuve as much as the price tag would suggest.

Just drink it, you great poof. Very hard to not be a happy drunk on that sort of stuff, and it is Friday night.

Champagne always suffers from its own success.
If the vineyard or house become fashionable (as Cristal did) then the vineyard has to overproduce leading to younger and younger grapes being used to fill the demand. The 'edge' is lost and its becomes average again.
Veuve Cliquot has always served me well. Their vineyards are big enough not to have to rush the process. Still virtually the same year on year although can be susceptible to corking.

Would rather buy non vintage Louis Roederer and save the money.

Do quite like Laurent perrier and Krug.

Purely as a taste/price ratio you'd be hard pressed to better Tesco's own champagne. As a chuck it down your throat experience, it's a goodie.
Agree with the Veuve comments, although I quite like a drop of Pol Roger too.

Why not go for a brand that is not well known but is better?
