I exercise three times a week at the gym, eat relatively healthily and swim _ but being over 40 comes with issues.

I've dropped 10kg since February by the simple technique of eating less (mainly reducing carbs with my main meal) and drinking less booze. I've basically established I don't need mounds of potato or pasta, and I definitely don't need a bottle of vino most nightsredface

Lowering the carbs may help. Cannot give up alcohol as I'm already tea total.

Scottish Slimmers...I lost 7 stone in one year (diet only) and was never hungry. Actually too much food to eat some days.

You can eat anything you want, as long as you count all your cals, and don't go over. And even better, you can save up cals for the weekend, if you've got nights out, etc biggrin

It's a really easy diet to follow, and seems to work for most people. Am sure they have a web site...so check it out

reduce your portion size. job done.

as a rule, look at how much your OH eats and match that. mine used to get full on 1/2 to 3/4 of what i deemed a portion as i gave her 'loads'.

you might be hungry for the first week or 2 but thats just your stomach adjusting, just snack on healthily if needed. i went on a residential training course last month - 3 course lunch and dinner for a fortnight - and still haven;t adjusted!

Ok, taking that into consideration, I recommend eating less and exercising more.

No worries then mate _ thanks for the help. Please could you also re-schedule my working life to allow additional time to train and is there anybody willing to take mrss zebs out for a nice meal to keep her happy whilst I'm at said gym. smile

Perhaps I just need to be happy being fat.

Sensible portions instead of huge ones and no snacking works for me. Without exercise I have lost half a stone in 6 weeks, and a couple of years ago I lost 4 stone in 5 months when I was doing the gym everyday.
