I have just joined "Virgin Wines" wine club, i pay £20/month into an account & each 3 month period they will pay in £20 as well (ie: £80 after 3 months in account) and so on, plus they gave me a starting £40 credit against my first purchase of 12 bottles from their range costing more than £79.99.
You can leave anytime after 3 months with no obligation or minimum contracural period.
If I recommend someone & they accept and join as well, we both get incentive vouchers, anyone interested in joining, send your email address & I will refer you.

I once won a 12 bottle case of Virgin wine - I think it was from their £80 range. Saved me having to buy wine for cooking for a while. Check your contract; is there a 'cooling off' period? If there is, take advantage and cancel your direct debit.
Go to Tesco and buy wine from their special offers; look for bottles which are usually at least £7.50/£8.00. Often they are discounted by 50%.

There was then an option to pay a little extra and get 'exclusive' access to a new vineyard and their products. Basically it was an up front fee to help the vineyard finances.
I then did the unspeakable and moved. Virgin Wine have been totally unable to cope with someone who not only moved but tried to change the card they would use for payment and changed email accounts.
Never did get the promised wine, never managed to get them to change my address.

Yep, checked the small print before committing, there is no required cooling off period, just cancel before next monthly payment is due, advise them & advise bank. In fact, get a clubcard, collect the points and they are worth double against Tesco wine club. Had 12 bottles of good to occasionally outstanding stuff for £30 worth of clubcard points recently. I once did three cases half-price from Virgin Wines. Although the offer didn't look like it it signed you up to the damn club - I cancelled it immediately.
The wine worked out at £3.30p a bottle. Which, to be fair, was a reasonable price for mid-week glugging wine. If I'd paid more, though, I would not have been very happy.
The truth is? I'd rather do without some nights and double the budget on the others.
The supermarket's half-price offers sometimes yield a decent price/wine - but if they'd been able to sell it at the higher price do you really think they'd discount it?
If you really want to drink some decent wine
1) You will have to pay for it
2) The supermarkets don't sell it - you'll have to go to a specialist merchant
But £6 to £16 spent with someone who really knows what they are doing is so much better than £4 spent with a supermarket buyer whose second question was "Can you make ten bazillion cases of the stuff?" Errr...without a fall-off in quality? Don't think so...

And, of course, we do have PHer wine business professionals too... although Bebs wines might be more for an occasional treat than everyday glugging!

We're not 'regulars' for Virgin wines, but we'll buy a case or 2 a year as they're pretty good (plus they often ring MOH and catch him off guard and he says yes to whatever offer they have) and we've had a cracking case of Orobio (sp? of the top of my head) red wine this year.
Their mixed offers have been pretty good in the past too. Wouldn't go in for the wine bank thing, happier to pick and choose.

I do it, plus get their discovery club (one mixed crate per quarter), and order lots from them. Never had any problems except one that my wine advisor sorted out quickly (with a free 3 pack of wine).
Their tasting is a good afternoon out as well - all you can drink for £25 which they then knock of anything you order.
