Seriously, what's the point in Beer and Wine, they are expensive and offer no real nutritional value, why not just drink water?

Saw a bloke in a motorway service station the other day buying a beverage.

He was wearing a T-shirt that said 'I LOVE Beer'. Picture of a bottle of beer on it too.

He bought (and drank) a can of Coke.

WTF???

Anyway that's my 2bits worth laugh

Jesus BG, you might as well end it all now.....
Asking for a justification for alcohol is asking whats the point in having a car capable of more than 70 MPh, it doesnt need a reason it just is.

Ah, I take it you missed the other thread by jamoor about Tea/Coffee?

For some reason, the mods moved my 'satirical' topic to this forum, whereas the other one remained in the P&P.

I was not being serious.

And they can take several minutes to drink too. It must be such a waste of time to go out and drink a glass of wine and talk some rubbish in the pub. Why bother when you can have a quick glass of tepid water at home on your own?

Not quite true-
Alcohol = lots of calories = nutritional value
wine = alcohol and sugar = calories = nutritional value
Beer = alcohol and more sugar = more calories = nutritional value plus a b- vitamin complex (from the yeast = nutritial value in Bavaria beer up to these date is classyfied as a food not a drink since you can have it with 16 and during your lunch break if you work for the state...

water on the other hand does offer no nutritional value (just fluid which we obviously need as well)

So there is a point, apart from that as we live (still) in relative liberty don't drink if you dont want to ......or driving
