Soup without a blender

My Chicken Soup.
Roast Chicken on Sunday and eat half of it, put other half in fridge.
Put half roast chicken in big pot and cover with boiling water and bring to simmer.
Add 1 large diced carrot, 1 large diced parsnip, 5 large diced potatoes, 1 veg stock cube, 1 chicken stock cube. Optional, onion and/or garlic.
Simmer for 40 mins.
Pull chicken out, separate meat from bones and nasty bits and put chicken meat back in soup.
Use potato masher in soup to squash half of veg.
Use ladle to skim off oily layer.
Add handful of frozen peas.
5 more minutes.
Season, stir and serve.
