I have just been informed by my boss that i have the pleasure of taking some of our clients out for lunch on the 17th in or around Milton Keynes. Any suggestions on where i should take them?

Thanks in advance.

Luckily in MK you are spoilt for choice!

You've got...

Burger King
McDonalds
Wagamamas
Pizza Hut
Nandos
KFC

wink

Seriously though, i'd also be interested if there are any really good restaurants in MK.

You could try one of the PH posters recommendations.

There is a nice place out in Cranfield, but can't remember the name.

Try this one - part of Peach pubs chain, good modern British food & very consistent. www.swansalford.co.uk

The Birch or The Birches at Woburn - just outside towards Woburn Sands - is very good. It's a pub, but now a proper resturant.

No where in MK I can think of - Bedfordshire is pretty dire for eating out. Best place in Bedfordshire is The Plough in Bolnhurst (North of Bedford), but that will be too far from MK I would have thought.

All of the pubs and restaurants in Woburn are good, never had a bad meal in any of them.

All of the following are good IMO:

Robinsons - Newport Pagnell.
The Weathercock - Woburn Sands. (pub)
The Old Green Man - Little Brickhill. (pub-restaurant)
The Swan - Astwood. (pub)
Vine - Stony Stratford.
The Paris House - Woburn.
Golden Tree - Newport Pagnell.
Carrington Arms - Moulsoe.
The Birch - Woburn.

Also, The Crooked Billet in Newton Longville is supposed to be good, although I've never eaten there.

As you may have gathered, MK itself is a bit of a gastronomic dead-zone. There are good chain restaurants there, but if you want to eat at an independent place you have to go out of the centre of town. Not a massive issue when Newport Pagnell and Stony Stratford are just on the periphery.

It moved, but not far away - to a pseudo-temple lookalike building about 500 yards away. It has a Thai restaurant on the top floor (not tried it).

Personally, I think the Mysore in Newport Pagnell is better for curry - Jaipur is nice but was a little pricey last time I went.

The Hub is where I usually end up, it's all chains but quite good chain restaurants.

It really isn't, the only thing it lacks is good restaurants, it has literally everything else. Well, I like it, but then I don't actually live in Milton Keynes wink

(and what other town can you legally drive 70mph everywhere?)
