Did this Indonesian rice dish last night. Very yummy indeed (not to mention quick and relatively healthy), and will now almost certainly be a regular menu feature.

For those unfamiliar, it's usually made with chicken, prawns, vegetables and rice in a spicy sauce (not a million miles away from Singapore fried rice), topped with shredded omelette and spring onions.

I used a paste out of a jar for my first go, but will be kncoking up my own in future.

yum Lovely dish. Had it for dinner on Wednesday night.

Try adding a dollop of Sambal Olek to the side for a bit of extra kick - goes really well with the egg in particular.

Yes it's a great dish, which my Dutch wife introduced me to.

We always stock up on the sambal oelek and Seroendeng to accompany the nasi when over in Holland.

Indeed, I bought a 725g jar of Sambal Oelek when I was last in Chinatown for 3 quid or so from memory (I went through the smaller jar too quick, so got the monster jar...)

I have seen it in Sainsbury's or Tesco in their premium range going for silly money.

Bought some of the paste from a chinese shop in Worcester called "Yum Yum" this afternoon. Looking forward to it!
