When I was I wee laddie, we went first footing with a bottle of Ginger Wine that was made at home. I can't remember how it was done but it didn't take long. Obviously it was non-alcoholic. Anyone do the same ? It was in the 70's. I've been looking for a recipe or how it was done but can't find anything. Maybe it was a 'kit' ? Help appreciated.
You can buy the little bottles of ginger wine essence in most chemist shops, which saves you making it from scratch!
I sell it in my pharmacy and people buy it by the dozen at this time of year as i believe not many places keep it any more.
The extra hot one is the best apparently!

Unfortunately I can't help you with a home recipe gifdy but I've bought a few bottles of 'Dorset Ginger' from a farm shop near me. As you're in Hampshire I thought you might be interested. It's a traditional alcohol free ginger drink, just right for cold mornings standing around in fields, it's made by The Dorset Ginger Company, Bournemouth, 01202 532062. £4.50 a bottle.
