I'm fond of Wagamamas, although I've only really done lunch there -might be a bit 'canteeny' for evening? Never had a bad meal. I could get bored with the menu if I went too often though...
They are reliable for take-out too if you live close by and the usual takeaway options don't grab you. Catered for an a egg allergic friend brilliantly. Bit costly though.
Only negative point is that they don't sell Duck gyozas by the bucket/wheelbarrow-ful.

Pretty poor quality japanese food tbh - the soups invariably taste like dishwater, katsu curry is just as horrible as a Findus Crispy Pancake in chipshop curry sauce, and I've been made sick after eating one of their gyozas.
we have proper japanese restaurants that would appreciate our business...support them :/

For all you lovers of Chicken Katsu Curry simply get some chicken escallopes from the supermarket and a pot of curry sauce from the chippy.
To make it authentic, boil your own rice.
Where's the salad though? It's the curry salad that makes it.To make it authentic, boil your own rice.
And i'll also need to source a short, slightly unwashed european to serve it for the full effect.
Only been once and had the ramen. Tasted nothing like the ramen I had in Japan. The sad thing is, where I am, we had a really good Japanese restaurant, it closed down and then a Wagamamas opened up 50 yds from its door. Sad to see that a second rate Japanese fast food outlet can get the punters in, when an authentic Japanese Restaurant (same prices and better setting) can't.

But I don't go to Wagamamas for a proper japanese restaurant, I go to Wagamamas because the food tastes nice. we have proper japanese restaurants that would appreciate our business...support them :/
I don't think anyone is saying the food is authentic Japanese?
