I have now run out of turkey so I would suggest a plate of smoked salmon with hollandaise sauce followed by a large Fray and Bentos steak and kidney pudding with a side order of chips and mushy peas, thick gravy and curry sauce. For pudding treacle sponge and custard, then a selection of nice and ripe French cheeses, a double expresso and a few grappas. HTH. biggrin

Somehow, I suspect 'JulesV' was not being serious!

I don't think there are any 'magic' diets, and I plan knocking the alcohol on the head and eating only home-cooked food for six weeks.

I was planning on starting tomorrow, but my wife has just persuaded me to wait until Monday.

I am so weak willed!

I had Daurade Provencale the other day which was rather good. The fish was nicely poached in wine with olives and other french bits and pieces and came with mash and asparagus. Followed by Crepes - plain with some lemon juice. Then have a few grappa and you'll be clean as a whistle by morning. Only addition I'd make, but the restaurant let me down, would be radishes with the aperitif.

So have you started the diet yet?

You obviously didn't like my original idea. Anyway I am off to The New Inn for a few pints of Harveys. beer
