Card Night Snack Help
Discussion
For our monthly Poker night we normally rely on bags of Haribo, fridge leftovers, fat cigars etc to soak up the beer and JD. However, this year we will be taking it in turns to supply "unusual" snacks. Scampi Fries and Twiglets are NOT acceptable, nor is the use of cutlery (for obvious reasons). I have scoured the 'net but failed massively to find anything suitable - pickled locusts, that kind of thing. Anyone got any suggestions?
The only time I will enter a 'healthfood shop' is to buy satay broad beans and the like. Great with beer.
Or buy decent biltong online?

I tend to find that snacks never hit the spot on a poker evening, and we usually end up hank marvin and break to order a filthy takeaway.
The sort of people I play Poker with wouldn't appreciate finger grub that had had effort up into it, so we usually end up, after piles of crisps, and beer, ordering either two of the largest greasiest pizzas money can buy or a bucket of fried chicken that is usually half full of oil...
Either could cause a coronary, neither are very tasty, but after a long evening of poker and drinking, they manage to hit the spot perfectly.

If you're still looking for interesting snacks, how about chocolate covered ants, chocolate covered scorpion and curried crickets? All available from Osgrow (scroll to the bottom of the page, they're all listed individually)
Or, take some plain chocolate, melt it, and cover some pretzels or breadsticks or marshmallows or something. That way, you get the chocolate taste, but without the invertebrates.
