Food allergy test?

Has anybody had one done? Im curious to have one done as i think i may have a few food intolerances but at £265 this seems a little steep http://www.yorktest.com/en/our-tests/product-infor...

Are these tests supposed to be worth doing or are the results a bit random/stab in the dark?

With0ut singling out that company, they're known to be not very accurate.
some have been known to label people as allergic to food etc that they definitely aren't and to give negative results to food they are allergic to.
as someone with a few allergies and intolerances myself, I'd go down the route of eliminate and try by trial and error; slower, but more accurate.

^^ As they said. Most of these companies are just out to make money. One told my sister in law she had a wheat intolorance then proceeded to try to sell her a 'cure!' Its amazing what you can cure when their is nothing wrong!

If you genuinely have allergies/intolerances, you can soon find out with a food diary and such like.

Not sure if this is because I'm already known to be allergic to some foods, but I had mine done free on the NHS about 2 years ago. Thing is, half of the results are crap anyway. I am apparently allergic to wheat and soya at level 4 (out of 6) but I eat both regularly. I'd say if it isn't giving you too much trouble (i.e. anaphylactic shock) don't bother.

used to have a lot of heart burn, munching things called tums like they were smarties

doctor said that milk is excellent at helping and so drinking a fair bit of milk

went away working for a week or two, no milk for breakfast ie cooked only and heartburn almost vanished, back to milk and heatburn returned

now use soya milk and have much less heartburn
