which is your favourite? i was brought up on HP but for bacon sandwichs i have been favouring the cheapest possible for that greasy spoon feel.

at the weekend i bought some wilkins & sons as i thought i'd see what a 'premium' brown sauce was like. i'm not at all impressed. i did note that the supermarket had a massive array of brown sauces, more than i thought neccesary anyway. i have thought about working my way through them and reporting back, but i won't use it fast enough.

what i want is a version of HP but made propery with all natural ingredients. the wilkin's doesn't have much of a taste to it and is too vinegary. any ideas?

i would be up for making my own if it doesn't involve industrial quantities!

There is a recipe in Delia Smith's Complete Cookery Course for Victoria Plum Ketchup that is rather nice.

Nor me.

Daddies or Crosse & Blackwell are excellent alternatives.

And knocked down the factory! I used to live directly opposite when I was at Uni and the tower with the logo on it made a useful landmark.
