Looking to take Mrs.F for a quality meal out, anyone got any recommendations ?

Style wise, probably English, Italian or Indian, but others would be entertained.

Costing around $50/head.

We're based in Tring, so driveable distances only please ta.

The Royal Standard of England in Beaconsfield. A truly lovely spot.

Well... I can think of somewhere to go... :cough: (see my profile!)... but in all honesty, it sounds like you want something more than quality simple food in an old-fashioned "proper pub" setting.

Whilst I agree that the Royal Standard is a great place - again, it's a bit "pubby" unless I've over-estimated what you're after. If I have, PM me if you'd like us to cook something special for you though - for a PHer, like.

With regards to "quality" food - one of my "competitors" (though in reality, they're more haute-cuisine than us... I'm really trying to not make it sound like we're rubbish because we're not, we're just not "posh"!) is the Nags Head (http://www.nagsheadbucks.com/). Quite expensive from what I've heard (drinks etc.) but has good reviews.
