I'm after a nice restaurant on the South Bank for a night out for the OH and I. Ideally I'd like somewhere with a view, however the 2 I know about Oxo Tower (Stop laughing at the back) and The Restaurant at the Tate aren't available frown

Does anybody know any other restaurants around the South Bank with a nice setting?

Skylon at the Royal Festival Hall is very nice and has the appropriate view.

Have you eaten there yourself? The reviews I can find are that good

Yes, a couple of times. There's a Brasserie and a Restaurant. Both meals I had were fine and the space itself is great. It's not Ramsay but good straightforward Conran type stuff.

I'm not after a mind blowing meal, the setting is key... Is it a noisy as they say it is in some of the reviews?

It`s absolutely fine. The only reviews I read where when it first opened and they were sufficiently good for me to go. The Royal Festival Hall itself is great now that it's been re-developed and Skylon has a genuinely nice feel about it.

Top shout! It worked a treat, popped the question in the pouring rain on the south bank afterwards. Thanks for the suggestion.
