Take a pint of the black stuff and add a 30ml measure of Tia Maria.

You're absolutely right. It's stunning. Expensive, but stunning.

And a liberal splash of vodka for good measure. Can be an expensive trip to the off licence though to get all the ingredients

first tried guiness and tia maria a few years back on st. pats. it was lovely and so i was alternating between that and normal guiness.

somewhre in that i decided guiness and baileys would be fantastic, and was convinced that because guiness is fairly thick and not acidic it wouldn't curdle. i was right, it was more like ice cream, really thick foamy head that i had to eat before getting to the guiness. avoid at all costs.

i did end up dancing in high heels that night, so a bit of a wrong day all round smile

why would you say avoid at all costs? you get a snack before you drink the guiness? sounds good?

I made that mistake once too (not the dancing in high-heels bit), was at a BBQ and decided I'd have some Tia-Maria in my Guinness, but they didn't have any, so just poured in some of the Baileys lurking at the back of the drinks cabinet instead, it was like a school chemistry lesson gone wrong.

Once it had settled it looked like the contents of a cement mixer and it was like chewing through cheese, so it went down the sink, although with hindsight the bin would have been a better receptacle.

Bailey's should be avoided at all costs. It was only invented to get rid of some of the excees milk the Irish cows produce.

i disagree. baileys [or more to the point, tesco's £3 a bottle version] is an excellent way to disguise early morning drinking. looks like coffee y'see smile
