"Diners at the Fat Duck - voted "the best place to eat on earth" by Restaurant magazine in 2005 - can experience dishes such as snail porridge or sardine on toast sorbet.

But they need to book months in advance to secure a table at the restaurant, where the tasting menu costs £130 . "

Bugger me.

I would prefer that to paying £130 for snail porridge.

I am not a foodie, so i would never be comfortable spending that much on one meal, no matter what the food was.

But Snail Porridge on my menu would put me off eating there...

I would honestly rather have some tuna and pasta, cooked at home for about £2.

Are some of you really suggesting that given a free pass to the (re opened and and found safe) Fat duck or a free pass to your local Maccy D's/Kebbab shop, you wouldn't want to try Heston's food?

I'm not a food snob by any means but I would have to be near the point of starvation before I considered a Macdonalds or Burger King (less fussy about Kebabs though!).

I would eat one of his 'normal dishes' rather than pasta and tuna if it was maybe £20. I have issues spending more than than on any plate of food.

I don't do fast food at all though as i have issues poisoning my body for any amount of money.
