I am sat here compulsively noshing my way through a large bag of Pistachios. It has taken a supreme act of will to stop shelling and eating them long enough to post this.

What makes them so addictive?

And what is your favourite nut?

Pistachios or cashews for me. Pistachios win because it's so much more satisfying having to fight* for every one.

*Admittedly it's not that much of a fight.

I like a nice brazil, after a couple of handfulls, there's usually enough left stuck in your back teeth to provide reasonable snacking for several hours. Also walnuts. But peanuts are surely the king of the nut world? Not those odd dry roasted ones though.

I don't like whole nuts but when you turn them into a paste they taste fab for some reason so I generally Just buy Nutella.

I think Pringles might give pistachios a good run in the 'can't stop eating them' stakes...

The salt. Try pre-shelled without salt. Not so nice to eat.

I think it might be the shelling and taste of green biggrin that makes them taste so good

Don't try dipping them in the salt pot. Just isn't the same. Now, if you have some wasabi (and like wasabi)...

Ooh, Mr Wasabi Peanuts are awesome (got through half a tin last night).

Its like playing russian roulette: most of them are really tasty and damn hot. However the odd one is f***ing hot but in a really wierd way - you don't feel the heat on your tongue at all...
