Got giddy and bought a blow torch like this:

and got thinking would a real one be better than a chiefs one?

Thoughts?

Sitting Bull says

'Must buy proper torch Kemosabe'

I've got a foody one - no idea whether a 'proper' one is any different. Good for lighting your smokes outside if the weather is inclement.

I have a chef's one and it has the pyrotechnic prowess of a gas lighter. Get yourself to a DIY store and buy the biggest butane-powered burner you can get hold of.

I got given one of these with a set of ramekins to make creme brulee, which admittedly were nice, but but now it has been demoted to lighting the fire and BBQs, which it is surprisingly effective.
