Hello, am hoping that you may be able to help with suggestions for any blender that will make fine pastes. We currently have a Kenwood food processor that has a small attachement for apparently doing this kind of thing, but have found that whatever i put in to blend just gets whizzed up the sides and not become a paste. I went into a shop today and was just confused by all the different types of hand blenders and mixers. I am specifically after blending of spices, pods, seeds and ginger into a paste for Indian cuisine.

Please help......confused

How about looking for a grinder rather than a blender.

Or putting more ingredients in

Having said that, we have a braun blender which has an attachment like a mini grinder, i will dgi out a picture, that does a good job for what you are looking for.

the thing on the right is what I am rambling on about, to small for anything to go to the sides.

You could consider (abusing) a cheap coffee grinder?

That's the fella. I use something similar for chopping garlic, ginger, herbs into a mush (you may need to add a bit of liquid to 'loosen' the paste).

However I grind spices separately in a pestle and mortar as I don't think the blender attachment is quite powerful enough, and I don't want to knacker the motor.
