I've been reading the various threads on cooking steak here

I think I've got the technique down but the raw material is letting me down
I have been using jamie Oliver Sainsbury steak but I cooked a sirloin on Monday and it was very disappoiting

So - does anyone know of a good butcher in North London, ideally reasonably close(ish) to Barnet / Whetstone / Finchley

I tried google but it's pretty useless; it came up with 2 local butchers which have closed down!

cheers

Go for a hoon, just outside Dunstable, you'll be able to see next months offerings being fattened up too

Not sure if Smithfield Market counts as North London, but I've had some cracking meat from teh sellers there.

Didn't even think Sainsbury's sold Jamie Oliver steaks anymore.

What's the deal with Smithfield? Can you turn up early on a Saturday and buy meat wholesale?

there's grahams on the junction of East End Road and Ossulton Way in east finchley or a little further aways is Bifulco in Cricklewood
