Oliver Peyton was a right grumpy git tonight ... but neither menu's impressed me.

Thought they looked nicely prepared but lacked inspiration......

The breadcrumbed egg and aparagus dish looked great, though obviously I don't know how it tasted. Was surprised by the outcome; it seems he won all but the main course.

As soon as they started saying the things they did I knew he was sunk and the pudding just confirmed it.

The judges said it was a hard decision and in this case they meant the winning dishes would come from another region. Last weeks cooks were both better.

I did think the egg soldiers dish was pretty good, though not sure why you need the saffron bread as well.

It's a good series though. The final diners being soldiers mean the arty farty chef's can't just be arty farty, they have to use their noggin.

Not sure it needed the saffron, but 'soldiers' do need to be bread.

But, I agree; I don't see this week's winner getting much further.

Hee hee. "Welcome to the North East, where the local time is 'last week'". It was the South West, this week. hehe

Yes, I think it was Kenny. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Great_British...

If I start an egg slow cooking now, it'll be ready for an early breakfast.

I simply cannot watch this because of Jenny "I should have been Queen" Bond. And the Scottish judge. And the fact that they drag out what ought to be a 30 minute show into 2 and a half hours. In summary, I don't like it hehe

There isn't a Scottish judge and it lasts an hour, not 2 and half. Given that, and the fact I think Jenny Bond does not actually want to be part of one of England's best ever rock bands it is pretty damn good!

OK Irish then, the guy is still a git. And there are 5, 30-minute shows during the week.

Oliver Peyton's dress sense is even worse than my Dad's.

Aye the programme could be condensed a little but other than that me and the missus like it, but then we like cooking, and eating for that matter, so I guess you need to be interested in the subject matter.

So, Steven or James today? Place your bets...

I think James.

Now that was a real slagging for some courses. That's another round where we will be lucky to see any dishes in the final.

I think tonight the judges chose the correct chef.

There was no way after the comments on two of the courses that one of the chefs was going through. I liked the fact that they actually said what they thought for the most part (and there were some fantastic derogatory comments). The judges seem to be more honest this series.

Not often you hear the word 'disgusting' hehe
