Does anyone drink their vodka like this. I'm feeling brave and fancy one, any tips?

Good god no, I quite like some of the flavour drops but I could never drink it with ice.

I keep my vodka in the freezer and have it with either coke or red bull, I would like to try vodka skittles though.

Neat (from the freezer) or mixed, here. Although I do make fruit infused vodka with mulberries and have that over ice.

You have to store vodka in the freezer, it's the only way.

Not as nice as the Grey Goose L'orange I was sampling a few weeks ago, but I have a bottle of Absolut Raspberri still in the freezer, which I've now decided to check is still ok. whistle

Syrupy when poured and no ice needed.

I don't think I could drink regular vodka over ice as it just doesn't get cold enough for me, or have a distinct enough flavour.

Oh, and another thumbsup from me for skittle vodka! thumbup

UPDATE: Having sampled that the Absolut Raspberri from my freezer is still as it should be hehe, I decided to try it with some Red Bull from the fridge.

A revelation!

It smells, and tastes like a

No, not a Pork pie with a pickle/chutney topping. It's a strawberry jam sponge, but the addition of RB to the Rasperri has left me with exactly the smell and taste of a steamed jam sponge pudding. Was gonna do a Jilly Goolden and try to describe it, but nah, hopefully you'll understand from the pic.

as you were.... paperbag

Hi Penny, how you doing?

Mixer in a seperate glass? how does that work then? Voddy straight and then the option to sip from one, sip from another if the mood takes you?

Sorry for my ignorance, I've just never thought about having them separately like that.

And yes, exactly that...a few glugs of voddy, and a sip of mixer. Odd I know, and I only do it in certain pubs ('old men' type to be exact hehe )

I hope you're not frequenting those 'old men' pubs to chat up the crusty, bearded, nicotine fingered men, coveting their half pint and chaser at the end of the bar. hehe

I'll give it a try separately and see how it goes.

UPDATE No.2: Decided that the smell and flavour of the Raspberri and RB is no longer jam sponge, but....

Spacedust. SERIOUSLY! I've now honed it down to this very 1980's product. Tastes the same, smells the same. It's liquid spacedust!

hippy

Why anyone drinks Vodka is beyond me as lets be honest its gross. No matter how expensive/posh it is, it is still undrinkable filth.

Now as i understand it, it should not be mixed (i went to Central Asia once)and it should always be drunk as a shot and never sipped.

Surely Whisky or Rum or Acetone is more pleasant as they all have some flavour?

Ahh, I see you are an authority on the subject. Decent ice cold vodka is perfect for sipping.

But how do you do it? I mean wouldn't you much prefer to sip Whisky or something with a flavour? Shirley making it ice cold removes the taste thus rendering it only useful for the purpose of getting thoroughly drunk, Ruski style.

NB The authority on the subject bit was a joke.

Grey Goose - straight from the freezer - no ice.

Starts as a sip and ends up as a habit. No hangover. Nice fresh kick from a diet coke this morning.

Lovely. lick
