where can you get a decent t-bone steak from?

Have you tried your local butcher ??


No seriously, any decent butcher will be able to source some decent meat for you, failing that you local farm shop ?

i did try a butcher but the response was some what unhelpful. local farm shop..... mmmmm might give it ago!

kris was it a "proper" butcher? A half decent butcher should be able to cut you a T-bone.

T-bone...not had one of those for ages, way before the ban on meat off the bone.

T-bone is sirloin on one side and fillet on the other yeah?

Nearly - it's New York strip and fillet... New york being my absolute favorite cut, if done right..

In my old local butcher you asked the previous day and he would butcher the carcus accordingly the following morning ready for collection. I really miss having a good source of meat frown

Back when that Blair was trying to control what we all eat (how quickly we forget, eh?), I remember the joy of giving him the finger and still eating t-bone steaks.

he wasnt the best butcher but i did enquire on another butcher and hes got 1 waiting so..... steak tonight lads! cant wait.

One of my local butcher said he'd never sold so much beef on the bone smile

A T-bone is in fact a cross section of the whole Sirloin (not to be confused with a trimmed Sirloin steak) it consists of Undercut (untrimmed fillet) and Sirloin Steak! New york strip is not a british cut!
