I bought a jar of the latter earlier this week. I thought it'd be good to see how it compares to my mate, Marmite.

It doesn't. Don't bother.

That is all.

I think I prefer Vegemite. Maybe it depends what you do with them?

Toast, Vegemite, and Avocado is yum

Have to agree, Marmite wins every time.

Still haven't tried the variant Marmites e.g with Champagne - any good or just a marketing gimmick??

Tried one (guinness/champagne, can't remember) & it was wierd. Don't mess with a winning formula.

Tried Vegemite once, recall it tasting like slightly Bovrilly Marmite.

Marmite toast with soup is divine.

Also, marmite toast goes particularly well with eggs, be they scrambled, poached, fried or any other permutation. Don't knock it until you've tried it, I can't have it any other way now.

Vegemite is like a milder Marmite I thing. It's better than Marmite in the same way that Mellow Birds instant coffee is better than a freshly ground Illy espresso.

My Aussie neighbour confirmed my Vegemite diagnosis above.

And amazingly for an Aussie, she prefers Marmite.

Vegemite is so wrong, when traveling we met up with another vehicle from the company and the Europeans had great fun staging raids to swap the Vegemite for Marmite.
