No, but it got a glowing appraisal in the book I'm reading.

The author joined the proprietors on a journey to Spain to fish for and eat Percebes, apparently the best seafood delicacy in the world.

I've heard it's good, A.A. Gill begs to differ (although he is to restaurant reviews what Clarkson is to car reviews):

I enjoyed it. Yes, it is Charlotte st, so a bit poncey creative type heavy. You pay for the place, more so than say Brinidisa in Borough market.

The Chorizo chips are lovely smile

Tapas at almost £10 per dish seems expensive. I imagine it is rather good though. I go to one just off Deansgate in Manchester called El Rincon de Rafa which has very similar offerings for half the price which is well renowned.

i dont get Tapas here. In spain it works...you pay a euro or two and have a tiny snack while you drink.

here they try to turn it into a meal, which means small portions that cost as much as a main course in a good value restaurant.

why not just have a spanish restaurant if you want people to sit down and eat a spanish meal?

Not always. Plenty of places exist in Spain where you pay handsomely for some slices of Joselito. Tapas is more that just an olive and an anchovy now.

In London, Brindisia comes close to the Spanish experience. Fino doesn't but it is still good IMHO.

There are some bloody hideous "Tapas" places around the UK though.

yeah i was kind of exaggerating, i know there are some very expensive trendy tapas places in Spain - especially since tapas became trendy about 8 years ago again. But I agree, very very few places in the UK offer a similar experience.
