I’m in Amsterdam with the Mrs next week and fancy a good feed. I’ve been to quite a few restaurants in Amsterdam including Bazar, Segugio, Gauchos, and Harkema

I’m looking for something different – high end but not Michelin star / silver service (find that a bit stuffy)

Any ideas?

Thanks!

The Supper Club

Alternatively there is a Bedouin Restaurant in Red Light on the (ready) Ouzijds Voorburgwaal (or an appropriation thereof) thats great, shoes off, sitting on the floor to eat, belly dancers etc after the meal.

Great recommendations

Supper Club maybe out as the Mrs is pregnant and she will want something a bit more conversative

I like the sound of the Bedouin place though

Thanks!

There are a number of truly excellent Indonesian restuarants (blame the colonial history for that...) Mrs HH and I have flown on EJ there a number of times just to eat

Blauw aan de Waal. All my Dutch friends think it's great. So do I.

that was my alternative to Breitner's - however you often need to book wel in advance - and you`ll need to navigate the OH through the red light district as this is were it is ....

Thanks Plotless - ended up at the Bedouin place. Great amtomsphere, as much booze as you can drink included in the price (always a winnner!) belly dancing (another winner) and bread making classes, all as part of the same meal!

I can recommend Momo if you like Sushi (in the Park Hotel) - I was there this week and had a great meal.

I'll try some of the other recomendations over the coming weeks

Thanks again!
